My Sun Valley, Nevada
"Week-long Vacation" begins with 3 days of fun with my dear friend
and Stampin' Up Guru at her house catching up, baking cookies, hanging pictures
in her new studio, planting flowers in pots for her new, gorgeous patio and
just hanging out. Oh, and then there's her 800 square foot studio where I
am set up with my own workspace! And next there's my brand new Stampin' Up Suites".
These are complete Collections featured in the New 2020-21 Inspire Create Share Catalog
that launched on June 3rd.
These Suites include the stamp sets & coordinating dies, Designer
Series Papers and all accessories to coordinate – all together in one neat
package which also includes a 10% savings.
Of course, one can purchase everything individually.
I dabbled a bit Monday
and Tuesday with the super cute sea-themed "Whale of a Time" Suite, Item
# 152470:

These Designer Series
Papers have all kinds of sea critters and even some under water scenes!
My 1st. Card:
I wanted something special
to send to my Mom, who continues to recover from not only a mild stroke a
little over a month ago, but now also a nasty fall that tore muscles &
ligaments! Unfortunately, there are too
many miles that separate us between Oregon and Southern California so we don't
get to see each often enough. So, I created this cute card - I saw this
"tilted to the side" design by another Demonstrator and gave it a
try. I love how the insides peek through to the front. I found the
"I Miss Your Face" idea from Stampin' Up's brand new 2020-21 Catalog &
CASED the idea into my own design. PS-the new catalog launches on August
1st!
The card front was so
fun to put together with all the layers! The full sentiment on the inside
lets my parents know we miss not only them but we miss their faces! (and hugs
too!)
My 2nd. Card:
Same Suite, different look…
I used one of the
underwater scenes again, this cut piece being the left-over cutting mistake
from my first attempt at my first card. Of course, there are never
mistakes in card making, just new opportunities to make something better!
I used a couple of the white cut-outs, adhered together and added to that a
cut-out of a different piece of DSP from the Whale papers. I did a bit of
shading with Pretty Peacock to add some depth, 3 layers on the large whale
punched from the DSP and several other fussy-cut critters from the sea to
create this card, It was tricky to cut those tiny fish and the seahorse!
My 3rd. Card:
More left-over DSP from
previous cards and while sitting on my workspace, I realized I could cut each
diagonally to salvage the DSP, fit them together on a piece of Night of Navy
cardstock that I'd already used to cut out the “miss you” letters, c&
created this fun card! Isn't that embossed piece of Pretty Peacock
cardstock gorgeous? That's the new embossing folder - love it! I
fussy cut the turtle and popped him up on Dimensionals while using my bone
folder to shape his legs to curl some. There are a few Iridescent Pearls
on the embossed piece and the lower left corner from the "Magic in
the Night Suite - they work perfectly with the Whale colors!
So – which card do you
like the best?
