Cayucos Vacation

It’s halfway through the week of February 21st - 26th and it’s Girls Vacation Week in Cayucos, CA!  This is our view & our home this week!  Our Condo Unit is right off the beach & what a view we have!  The one draw-back is the 3 sets of stairs to climb to reach our 3rd story unit.

  

We are sleeping in, enjoying the view, the beach and... of course: making gorgeous projects!

Today’s agenda was our Cambria day which included Two garden shops, a couple fun shops, Lynn’s of Cambria Gift Shop. Lynn’s is a MUST for Olallieberry pies, preserves, syrups, etc. Here’s Karen & me with the big Olallieberry:

Tomorrow is Morrow Bay to the sand dollar beach & Pismo to Harry & David store. 

Birthday Chick Gate Fold, Double Box Card

A dear friend of mine is celebrating her 70th Birthday today. I wanted to make a special birthday card for her & I know she loves 3D projects. With that being said, I purchased the tutorial from Bronwyn - addINKtive designs, pulled out my Hey Chick & Happy Birthday Chick stamps & dies and came up with this fun card.  This is the card folded to fit into a standard A2 envelope.

And this is the card fully opened. Sure hope she is delightfully surprised & loves it as much as I do!

I used a fun die from my stash, some SU DSP and the Kangaroo & Company + Dies Bundle. This is my second time participating in the TTYC; I have the time now that I’m retired!

Tuesday Treat

It’s Tuesday Treat Day & wow, have I got a treat for you! I made this darling Birthday Card this morning using the new Kangaroo & Company Stamp Set + Kangaroo Dies that are currently available in the January - June 2021 Mini Catalog. This is such a cute set; there are 20 stamps total that include the kangaroos, sentiments, plus flowers, gifts, & hearts that all tuck into momma kangaroo's pouch which give you so many options. 

I love that the dies cut out all of the images plus the large kangaroo die cuts a slot in at the pouch opening so you can tuck in the hearts/flowers/gifts or her Joey-Super Cute!

I started with Whisper White card stock using blending brushes to create the background using Balmy Blue and a blend of Garden Green, Mossy Meadow, and a hint of Old Olive. Next I stamped in some blades of grass using my Garden Green Stampin’ Pad. I stamped the images using Memento Tuxedo Black & colored the kangaroos using Blends using both: Light & Dark: Cinnamon Cider, Smoky Slate, and a bit of Black for noses. The party hats & gifts were colored, again using Blends in both Light & Dark: Balmy Blue, Poppy Parade, and Highland Heather. Butterfly & flowers were colored with Light & Dark: Poppy Parade, Garden Green, and Daffodil Delight.
