Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #114

For this week's Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge, I chose the bottom row, across: Nature, Sea, & Masculine.  In my mind, I  envisioned the wales on the waves -I think I pulled it off this time! So here's what I did...

My card is a standard A2 size cut from Basic White cardstock with a side-fold.  The card front measures 4" x 5-1/4", landscape,  that's matted on a 4-1/8 x 5-3/8" Night of Navy cardstock. I used blending brushes and Balmy Blue ink  to create the sky and Pumkin Pie for the setting sun.  Next I embossed the bottom part of the card to make the waves using the High Seas 3D Embossing Folder & emphasize the tops of the waves with Soft Seafoam ink and a blending brush.  I used stamps from Whale Done & Sailing Home for the whales, saliboat, seagulls and the sentiment. It's such a cute card, don't you think?

This is my 4th challenge entry in the last week!

Global Design Project #293 | Color Challenge

Global Design Project #293 - it's time for another Color Challenge!

This week's color combination is Pale Papaya, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen.

For my card entry, I chose to use one of the stamps from the Hand-Penned set.  I pulled a piece of the Ink Expressions DSP, the Pale Papaya was perfect for what I wanted.  I added some interest by stamping the faint wording in a "tone on tone" look using Pale Papaya and a stamp from Very Versailles. Next came the Soft Succulent/Evening Evergreen striped piece of DSP from the Pansy Petals DSP.  The overall background is Pale Papaya Cardstock; I embossed the far left to add texture.  The flowers & leaves are colored in and shaded using both Light and Dark Blends in Pale Papaya, Soft Succulent & Evening Evergreen.  Everything is tied up neatly with the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding topped with the Gold braid trim from my stash.  A few gold Sequins, some Wink of Stella and a sentiment and this card is ready to mail!

TGIF Challenge

My TGIFC317 Inspiration Challenge Entry!

It’s Inspiration Challenge Week at TGIF & the challenge is to get our inspiration from the new Annual Catalog from Stampin’ Up!  I found my inspiration for the Quiet Meadows spread found on Page 110 of the catalog. Now I have to admit the main reason I bought this Bundle was for the dies! I love, love, love dies; they add so much to cards & scrapbook pages. I also love the paper featured on the mini pizza box on this page. So, I took some of the design and created a super cute card.

For my card today I have chosen my inspiration from page 110 in the Annual Catalog which features the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set and the Meadows Dies. I chose to use the Expressions In Ink Designer Series Paper, using the Old Olive Piece for my background and the Pale Papaya Piece for the flowers. Now I have to admit, this wasn’t my most favorite set and I actually bought the bundle mostly for the dies. I love, love, love dies and use a die of some kind on every card I make!

The Old Olive piece of DSP is cut at 4“ x 5 1/2“; the Basic White Thick Card Base is cut: 8 1/2“ x 5 1/2“,  scored in the middle and fold it in half. The small Design Strip piece is cut at: 4 1/4”x 7/8”.  The die cuts are all cut from Basic White Thick cardstock using Two of the Meadow Dies; the little tag is cut twice & adhered together for more strength to hold up being tied to the twine. The Old Olive Twine is from my stash from last year’s catalog & is wrapped around 3 times before tying the knot & bow.

I stamped three flowers in Cinnamon Cider Ink onto the Pale Papaya DSP and fussy cut them; Two flowers were adhered to the card front using Dimensionals, the remaining was adhered to the card inside.

The little design piece was stamped using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink with the “wordy” stamp; that was subsequently stamped again, 2nd Generation in Cinnamon Cider with the splattered stamp to create some additional interest. I used the same process for the inside of the card & the envelope. I love how this card turned out & am anxious to know what YOU think so please leave a comment!

TodayCard, Just Add Ink #555

Today’s card was inspired by this week’s Just Add Ink Color Challenge #555.

Here’s my card:

I started with a piece of Basic White Thick cardstock that I colored in Pool Party Ink using the Blending Brushes, I then stamped using the “faint” wording stamp from Quiet Meadows. Next, the flower cluster from Quiet Meadows was stamped using Black Memento Ink & colored using both light & dark Blends in Just Jade & Magenta Madness. I used the Meadow Dies to cut the greenery. A smalls strip of vellum lays softly behind the arrangement and it’s all tied together with a piece of the Crinkled Seam Binding. I love how the finished card turned out, what do you think?

Global Design Project Challenge, GDP#292

It's time for the Global Design Project Challenge; this week's challenge is GDP#292.  The goal is to CASE (CASE = Copy And Selectively Edit) the Designer, Artist Susan Wong's card is pictured below.

This is my entry, my interpretation of Susan's card:
I've used a card base measuring 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" in Soft Seafoam cardstock, folded in half. The Basic White card front has been embossed using the largest die in the Potted Succulents Die Set and was matted onto Pear Pizzaz.  The succulents are all from Simply Succulents stamp set; the smaller Two were cut -using the dies, the largest was fussy-cut.  I hope you like the resuts!  The best picture I took was whe I laid the card in my large succulent planter - yes, the background succulents are real!

P.S.: I am really struggling with the uploading of my photos from my iPhone 12 to this blog as the colors are vibrant and beautiful on my phone but, but seem to dull substantially when bringing them onto the blog!  Any suggestions are welcome!
