True Love Wednesday

There’s a cute little  saying - it’s: “Love is in The Air”.  Today, the new True Love Designer Series Paper took its spot on my desk. I do so love good quality Black & White paper because there are so many options on how to use this classic style paper!  Here are a couple pictures to give you an idea of the different patterns in this delightful DSP packet. However, the pictures don’t do these papers justice as they really are so pretty in person. True Love DSP is a double-sided, 12” x 12”, very nice weight paper that handles good in the trimmer,  die cutting, and adding color. This DSP is part of the “Love You Always Suite” that you can find on pages 10-13 of the brand new Mini Catalog that launched yesterday. I do not have the full Suite as of yet but I sure had fun making a couple projects pairing the DSP with the “Meant To Be” stamps set plus “Stitched Be Mine Dies”” from the Annual Catalog. See what I made below...

I pulled out my Curvy Dies and Quite Curvy Stamp Set for the first Two cards:

The Designer Series Papers are the star of the show for these cards!
Card #1, To start off I used my paper trimmer to cut down the DSP and next made the curved cuts with the awesome new Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. I added some very subtle color on the 2 birds using Blends Markers. One bird was popped up using Dimensionals. The finishing touches for this card are a few Noble Peacock Gems from my stash plus some Bakers Twine from an earlier Paper Pumpkin Kit.

Card #2 brings a different “feel” as I wanted to show you how you can take the DSP, add some color and get a whole new look. I LOVE the Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. They are such a delight to use as their blending abilities are great! I colored the yellow Roses with Combo Packs (2) in: Man
go Melody, Daffodil Delight, & a hint of Pumpkin Pie. I fussy-cut the roses, cutting off the spray piece so I could adhere it where I wanted: not cover over the sentiment. A little stamping accident with the sentiment was fixed by stamping a second time on a scrap of White that I fussy-cut and adhered to a scrap of Mango Melody and a second round of cutting. Popped my “mistake” piece on Dimensionals and poof, mistake is gone!  This card was enhanced with one of my favorites: Gold Glitter Enamel Dots.

Valentine’s cards are one of my favorites to make; I present to you a cute card & treat box:

For this card,  I used 3 different pieces of the DSP & added some detailed coloring with Stampin’ Blends. Did I mention I love to color & even love fussy-cutting? I find coloring to be very relaxing. I get so caught up in what I’m doing that I’m off in my own world!  To provide some interest & finishing touch, I took a corner scrap of the DSP, colored and fussy-cut on 2 sides then adhered the colored piece to the inside of the card base. The Real Red ribbon ties up everything to complete my card.

Here’s a close-up view of the details on the card front:

And for some super “cuteness” I just had to jazz up one of the Clear Tiny Treat Boxes. In the past, I’ve cut 4 pieces of DSP to fit inside these boxes but this time I wrapped one piece of 2” x 8-5/8” of DSP wrapping from front all the way around, ending with the lid. I still using up some Snail “tape runner” Adhesive so that’s what I used, applying a strip on both sides of each corner. I started at the front, trimming the paper for the little cutout section for the thumb to open the lid. I adhered each side/corner, one at a time to ensure a good fit, ending with the top of the box. The paper will wrap all the way to include the flap piece that tucks in, trimming off any excess. Then, it was time to decorate. I used the heart  dies and scraps of red for the little hearts. I stamped & die cut the  bigger heart . The final touch is the darling ribbon from the Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack. The below picture is a view of the top of the box.
I am quite pleased with this little duo and am sure the recipient will be pleased too. What do you think?
Which card is your favorite?

January is a great time to order any of the supplies I used as it is also Sale-A-Bration time. Sale-A-Bration runs all of January & February rewarding you with free product for each $50 you spend. There’s some really cute DSP and stamps for the taking! Don’t wait too long though as the free items are available only while supplies last. I would be honored to be your Stampin’ Up Demonstrator. Simply Succulents, Card #2

I meant to get this posted a couple days ago but the “take-down” of Christmas decor took presidence.

This is card #2 from the Simply Succulents Bundle. I changed up the colors a bit from card #1 using Terra Cotta for the pot & bringing Highland Heather with the Smokey Slate in one of the succulents. I used my blending brushes on my background to bring the Old Olive & Highland Heather into play for cohesiveness. My card base is standard A2: 5-1/2” x 8-1/”, folded in half to create a 4-1/4 x 5-1-/2” card. The DSP that frames the colored succulent piece is from the Hydrangea Hill DSP from the new 2021 Jan.-Jun. Mini Catalog. The colors in this DSP are so, so scrumptious- a MUST buy!

I love coloring with Blends Markers; I find it peaceful & relaxing. I love the end results on this card what do you think? Which card do you like best: card #1 or card #2?
